Congrats but Best Buy limits are a joke. Tell me what kind of computer can you get for $300 or flat screen! Circuit City seem to give out higher limits. But then again that is Chase bank vs HSBC

This card is offered by HSBC Retail Services and is a sub-division of HSBC Bank but HSBC R/S is a lot better. They are more generous with their CLI's and report a few days after your statement cuts.

The Best Buy store card is very generous with CLI's unlike the Best Buy Mastercard. I've had both cards and I love the Best Buy store card but closed the MC because I couldn't stand the way they treated me as a loyal customer.

If the card doesn't have an annual or monthly fee, don't close it. Closing an account with a good amount of history will hurt your score especially when you are rebuilding your credit.
For cards that you don't use, make sure you use it once every 2 months to show activity or else the creditor will close the account for inactivity.

Does anyone know if the account info gets reported on the AU's credit report? I added my parents as AU's on my account and they didn't ask for a social. The whole idea of me doing this is to help them with utilization and increase their FICO scores.

They were out of applications, so they called the bank and we did the application over the phone.
I was immediately approved with a cl of $3000. Yay!

Congrats on your approval and nice limit. I have the BB Mastercard for a seven months now and on the six month I received a credit line increase of $100.00. When I called to ask for more, they denied me. Playing the game with HSBC, I asked to speak with a supervisor who told me that the increase was declined due to them giving me one the month prior. I told the supervisor that six months of heavy usage and perfect payment history was worth more than $100 of a CLI. He still said there was nothing he could do. The minute I said I am going to close the account, he said oh wait, because we don't want to loose you as a 'valued customer' we can give you another $100 to keep your account open. I accepted. He said that IF and I do mean IF with this bank you get a CLI every six months, it's a max of $200. I just thought I would let all of you know that this seems to be the only way to get a CLI.

My current scores are 660, 663 and 690.
I do have a couple bad marks on my credit report due to charge offs from a few + years ago.. Nothing since then.
I was very happy with the $3000 limit and was able to purchase the laptop I wanted without maxing out the card.
And I qualified for the zero interest for 18 months - which of course I plan on having the laptop paid off long before then.
